Four Dialogues
for voice and cello
Op. 5 (2016)

I was inspired by a piece for violin and solo voice by Gustav Holst, and decided upon a text by Joseph the Hymnographer for the project. Constructed in four miniature movements, the text explores Christian tenets such as penitence. My good friend Will Heller and I performed this work at Luther College in 2016.

This work received an Honorable Mention in the 2022 Arcady Ensemble (CA) Emerging Composer's Competition.
