Escaping
for piano trio
Op. 13 (2020)

Strange as it may sound for a professional cellist, I had yet to play a fully-fledged piano trio. So why not write one? At the time of starting work on this piece, I had envisioned something like a George Crumb-inspired work that could capture obscure negative emotions. Or something important sounding. Over the course of writing the piece, it changed dramatically to a much more succinct two-movement piece that is far more worthy of the concert stage.
